MARINE CONSERVATION DIVEMASTER PROGRAM

Your story can combine your love of the ocean with a professionally recognized qualification, as Caribbean Reef Buddy are able to offer an SSI Divemaster program with a difference.Do you want to become a Divemaster and do marine conservation? Join our project and do both!

DIVEMASTER PROGRAM OVERVIEW

As a certified Divemaster you will increase your awareness of dive management, risk management and of working with students both in the water and on land. You’ll also massively increase your competence and confidence diving too. Being a Divemaster also makes you far more employable either in marine conservation or in the diving industry.

Caribbean Reef Buddy Divemaster Program

The Divemaster program is a three-week intensive training option which can be added onto or inserted into your planned time in Carriacou. The project will have you training and diving alongside the marine conservation volunteers as they participate on their projects and is a great follow on from your time working as a volunteer.

Divemaster program start dates for 2020: 07-Jun, 05-Jul, 02-Aug, 30-Aug

To participate on the Divemaster Program you will need to be certified Stress & Rescue Diver, have an emergency first aid certificate (like React Right) within the last 2 years, and have logged more than 40 dives (including 5-night dives).

Don't worry, we can integrate all of this into your time here. During the first 5 weeks of our Marine Conservation Volunteer program we will ensure that you can meet all of these requirements and get you onto the journey towards becoming a scuba diving professional.

Caribbean Reef Buddy Divemaster Program

Why SSI? Scuba Schools International are the fastest growing diver training agency. All of their courses meet or better both Recreational Scuba Training Council (RSTC) standards and ISO standards, meaning they can credit directly towards college and university courses. What is better is that all of their training materials are digital, which means no trees need to be cut down, processed and shipped around the world to get them into your hands.

Our program is flexible: click the icon on the right hand side to chat to one of our program co-ordinators who will be able to talk you through the options and what you need to do next.

Alternatively you can use one of the links below to request more information.

A Note On Scuba Equipment

As part of your course we will provide you with the use of standard scuba equipment: BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask & fins, however as a Divemaster candidate we would strongly advise you to consider purchasing your own diving equipment, as you will be more comfortable and confident when you dive with the same equipment all the time. If you are looking  to work in the dive industry, you will also need the following:
Dive Computer
Surface Marker Buoy (preferably one with an open-ended bottom)
Finger Spool/Reel
Compass

We would recommend getting a dive computer you can wear on your wrist, and a compass that is integrated into your SPG console.
